Hawaii

Hawaii became the 50th state of the United States on August 21, 1959. It is situated in the North Pacific Ocean, 2,300 miles (3,700 km) from the mainland.

Age of consent is 16. It is illegal for minors age 14 and 15 to have consensual sex with adults at least five years older, this law does not apply to married couples. Hawaii has no sodomy laws.

Same-sex marriage in Hawaii became legal on December 2, 2013. The Hawaii State Legislature held a special session beginning October 28, 2013 and passed a bill legalizing same-sex marriage.
