Texas
Texas is a state in between the Western and Southern regions of the United States of America, and sharing some of the cultural aspects of both. It is considered part of the Southwest and geographically on the American Great Plains. Texas declared its independence from Mexico in 1836 and existed as the independent Republic of Texas for nearly 10 years.
The age of consent is 18, (The age of consent in Texas is considered to be 17 years of age, however, until the minor turns 18, he or she can only have sexual relations with someone 2 years older.). Texas amended its constitution to ban same-sex marriage. The law concerning the act of sodomy in Texas was struck down in court and that the law is 'null and void'.
