This Nation Has to Get Off the Extremes

By Daddy

Las Vegas — Where did the month of January go to? The month continued with strangeness of a country on the Cusp of change. Some of the strangeness is good and some is not so good.

It bothers me that a group of about 50 protesters blocked the entrance to Dodger stadium, a site of a mass vaccination campaign. Do a small group of protesters have the right to block access to hundreds of people wanting to receive a vaccine in a county with over 10,000 coronavirus deaths last week alone? I think not.

Then comes the case of Gamestop who was being shorted by hedge funds. This is like betting the "No Pass" line at the craps table. This irked a handful of people on the Reddit forum WallStreetBets with over 6.3 million users and caused a 14,300% increase in a few weeks. This caused a short squeeze for the hedge funds. General panic ensued in spite of circuit breakers being tripped ten times. What it shows us is that it's time for the stock market to rethink their rules that favor large funds over individual investors.

We're in a Cusp and the only way to navigate that Cusp is to careful, thoughtful, well planned changes. No matter what, we can expect a lot of change over the next few years.

I basically slept through out the weekend and when awake was traveling around in a fog. A lot of dreams of my days in Hawaii. I've finished the last of the antibiotics this morning so the obnoxious side effects should start tapering off this week. The new CROW boot should be making an appearance this week or next and will be a flat black in order that it not be quite so obvious.

Please Be Safe, Be Sane, Be Healthy! Remember to wear your masks.

To all those that have donated, Thank you! February has one bill that's due near the end of the month, so happiness is. Any help is appreciated. Here's a link to the How to Donate Page

Immigration, Gay Youth at Heart of GLAAD-Nominated the Magic Fish

By Brian Andersen

Print — While The Magic Fish is aimed at a middle-school audience, its heartfelt honesty transcends age. It is a bold immigrant story focusing on Tien, a 13-year-old Vietnamese boy, and his parents as they navigate their new home in America. It is also an LGBTQ+ narrative about finding the words to vocalize your queerness to parents who lack the language to fully understand what being gay means. And it is a tale about the power of shared stories and how fairy tales are often used to express deep truths about society and culture. (More)
