A Divided Nation

By Daddy

Las Vegas — We have just had the biggest election with the largest turn out in the history of the nation. Both candidates have received more votes than any candidate in the history of the United States. With a combined total of just under 148 million votes the difference is only about 5 million votes.

According to more cautious NBC News the electoral vote has been stalled at 279/214 a difference of only 65 votes. The election is down to four states: Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina which control 45 electoral votes. Yet a winner has yet to be declared, for in those four states it's: "Too Close To Call".

We've had multiple protests across the nation and thankfully little or no violence. There have been at least fourteen court cases filed in multiple states. We know that there will be at least one recount and perhaps more as States certify their results. Most recounts can't happen until that event happens.

We are a nation divided and like a the famous quotation from Abraham Lincoln: "A house divided against itself cannot stand." If we cannot return the nation to a more civilized demeanor, I fear that we won't be able to survive many more elections.

Thursday is my 65th Birthday and for the life of me I don't know what I want to do. Traditionally I treat my birthday as a "Me" day. But given the restrictions resulting from COVID19 the normal things I'd do are not possible or so restricted that the fun is all gone. The store had very nice looking Tomahawk Ribeye steak and perhaps I'll go get one.

I've also wanted to try a Jackfruit and it turns out that there is an Asian store that is known for them just a bit down the street.. A scary looking fruit but one that I've been assured is well worth the effort.

I've been test driving a new version of my HTML editor. Renamed Nova this is the next generation of Coda2 and has gotten several "Wows" from me in it's first two days of use.

As is usual as we head into the holidays, money gets tight however November appears to be taken care of. I'll be coasting until about the 20th. To all those that have donated, Thank you for your donations!. Any help is appreciated. Here's a link to the How to Donate Page

Legendary O'Farrell Theater in San Francisco Closes for Good

By Mark Kernes

San Francisco — The year was 1969, and the Mitchell brothers, Jim and Artie, who'd already established a thriving business filming short hardcore loops, decided they needed a new challenge—and what better opportunity than buying an old Pontiac dealership at the corner of O'Farrell and Polk Streets in San Francisco's "Tenderloin" district and, after a lot of renovation, opening a movie theater where they could both film the loops and longer features, and show them to a public willing to pay the $2 admission charge? Ryan Murphy’s Parents Tried to ‘Cure’ His Homosexuality

By Staff

Hollywood — In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Murphy detailed the events surrounding his coming out and his Prom. Events that are sadly all too familiar for LGBTQ+ youth, even today. “I went to my junior prom and the next day my parents took me to a psychiatrist to cure me,” said Murphy.

The 54-year-old screenwriter, director, and producer was lucky. “Thankfully, I had a really good shrink,” he explained. Instead of attempting to change Murphy’s sexuality, his psychiatrist gave his parents an ultimatum. “At the end of our several sessions [my psychiatrist] called my parents in and said, ‘You have a choice here: You can try and change him and lose him, or you can accept him and love him.’” (More)
