Batshit Crazy

By Daddy

Las Vegas — Tuesday nights fiasco of two angry old men tossing spitballs on stage in front of the entire world reenforced in my mind that it's time to move on to the next generation of politicians. My rule of not voting for anybody >70 years of age seems to be vindicated. Which was a bummer until I did my usual review of the Nevada sample ballot.

In Nevada it turns out we have four count them, four candidates for President. A quick perusal of their bios revealed that while yes, three of them are in their 70s, it turns out that one of them is in her 60s. However, it appears that she's batshit crazy. While I was sleeping on it I realized that compared to Tuesday night, she has a better demeanor that either of the other two popular candidates.

So I started to look at her opinions in detail. It turns out that I must be batshit crazy myself. I tend to agree with her on most things. Her website is at a crawl today so I guess I'm not the only one looking at her positions on issues. Now mind you she's billed as an "Extreme Libertarian" but I wonder if it is possible that it's time for our Government to experience a "Hard reset?" I for one have thought so since about 2016.

I know that 47% ±1% of you think that a vote for a 3rd party candidate is a vote for Trump; and that another 47% ±1% think it's a vote for Biden. But the truth is that my vote is not a vote for either of the grumpy old men that were an embarrassment to the entire nation. If this is the best that the two existing parties can give us, we're in a lot of trouble and it's time for use to move on to younger parties.

I laid down for a nap at noon and the next thing I knew it was four. So we've rescheduled today's task is to pick up my CROW boot to next Tuesday. I must really have need the sleep as I feel much better!

Cyberspace — It feels like it's been forever since season eight of Are You the One? aired. With it came history as it was the first pansexual/bi/sexual fluid episode of the show. It launched a handful of short-lived relationships, but possibly more importantly, it launched a few of its cast onto OnlyFans. (More)

First Debate: Alarm Over Trump’s ‘Stand By’ Remark

By Lisa Keen

Cyberspace — What happened of particular interest to the LGBT community was President Trump’s refusal to tell white supremacists “stand down” and his comment, instead, telling an extremist right-wing group that has voiced anti-LGBT views to “stand by.”

Trump’s response on the white supremacist question from Fox News moderator Chris Wallace garnered more attention from the post-debate commentary than his remarks on any other issue during the 90-minute event. (More)

By Andy Towle

Palm Springs — The AP reports: “Brown died Tuesday at his home in Palm Springs, California, according to a social media post by his partner, Tim Hoeffgen. The cause was a return of the cancer that originally prompted the unusual bone marrow and stem cell transplants Brown received in 2007 and 2008, which for years seemed to have eliminated both his leukemia and HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. “ (More)

'Life' Story: An Interview With Branden James

By Gregg Shapiro

Chicago — In 2013, just before I moved from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale, I was fortunate enough to interview singer Branden James, not once, but twice. A gay classical crossover artist, Branden, who also lived in Chicago at the time, was riding high following his success on America's Got Talent (where he was a finalist on season eight), as well as his performances with various national opera companies, including Chicago's Lyric Opera.
