It Was a Crazy Weekend

By Daddy

Las Vegas — 31 million people have cast their vote, this is up from 17.5 million when I first started following it last week. Over 10 million votes in a few days. We are watching history being made. It's going to be a crazy two weeks.

Fourteen of the states also report the party affiliations of the ballots. A bit over half the ballots were from Democrats, and about a quarter from Republicans. However, the game-changer is the "No Party Affiliation" which is about 20% of the total. If they go with Biden that's a ~75% advantage. If they go with Trump it only about ~45% of the vote. I suspect it'll split down the middle.

We're about fourteen days from election. Don't let anybody convince you that your vote is not important. If you're in one of those states that mailed you a ballot to fill it out, do so, put it in its envelope, and sign the certification on the outside. Then take it to your polling place. You don't need to trust USPS to get it that last mile.

For me it was literally a walk up to the door, be shown to the ballot box where I deposited my ballot. For my friend, the only reason it wasn't a several hour wait was because She was sporting a bright blue cane and along with a handicap placard was shown to the door directly.

I still feel clumsy in the CROW boot however yesterday something clicked and it became much easier to deal with. Still using my cane when I go out and still get tired quickly when it's on. My only complaint is that it's tall enough that it interferes with my knee. When I go for my follow up, I'll see if they can take an inch off the top.

As is usual as we head into the holidays, money gets tight however October appears to be taken care of. To all those that have donated, Thank you for your donations!. Any help is appreciated. Here's a link to the How to Donate Page

US Senate Races: Where LGBT Support Matters

By Lisa Keen

Washington — Control of the U.S. Senate is almost as important to LGBT people this year as control of the White House. Under Republican control, the Senate has ignored bills to make schools safer for LGBT students or to stop discrimination against LGBT youth seeking child welfare services. While the Equality Act, to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, housing, and federally funded programs, has passed the House, it has languished in the Senate Judiciary Committee, without hearing or vote.
