A Conservative Government

By Daddy

Las Vegas — With the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett, like it or not it appears that we'll have a conservative government for at least a few months and possibly for years. To give you an idea that last time the government was conservative was about 50 years ago. We can scream and shout about it, but that's all we can do without major changes to the constitution. If Judge Barrett is confirmed, it will take years to bring our government back to the middle and that task will require perseverance.

So what can you do? For many states the deadline for registering in the 2020 elections is quickly approaching. You have a week or so to check and see that you're registered and that your information is correct. Then more importantly you need to Vote. Don't listen to those nay-sayers that insist that your vote doesn't count.

I have two medical appointments this week. The first is to pick up my CROW boot and then I have an eye exam where I suspect that I'll be perscribed eye glasses.

I've made some progress with interfacing the application with the COM (Component Object Model). I now know that the thunk layer will be needed and that I'll have to use either the "C" or "Objective-C" languages to do the work. Going down some very interesting holes in the lowest parts of the system.

By Lisa Keen

Washington — n a crowded outdoor event at the White House, President Trump said his nominee, federal appeals Judge Amy Coney Barrett, would receive a “very quick” confirmation. Does this spell doom for existing protections for LGBT people under the law? Does it close the door to the Supreme Court for any future LGBT plaintiffs seeking their rights under the constitution? LGBT legal experts are both deeply concerned and somewhat confident. (More)
